Last weekend’s below zero temperatures lead to an unexpected mishap for a Middlefield family. Violating the No-Swimming rules, the Grissom family decided to be their own Polar Bear Club and go swimming at Wadworth Falls. Wadsworth falls is normally a fun place for everyone to hangout; but this time the unusually cold temperatures led to an unexpected freeze of the stream and water fall.

While jumping around and having fun…the family thought they were supposed to be polar bears…on lookers watched in horror as the water around the Grissom family began to instantly freeze. Suddenly the family was trapped, and in moments their bodies were frozen within the frozen water fall.

Rescue workers were quickly brought in, but by the time they arrived the Grissom family was encased in several feet of ice. Authorities believed dynamite could free the trapped family, but there was serious concern about damaging the natural beauty of the falls.  After medical officials determined the family was perfectly preserved, town officials decided to postpone any rescue attempt until the spring when the ice is expected to thaw.

Edwardo Kagen, also known as the Mattabeseck Butcher, is believed to have escaped from Hell to be reunited with his beloved Shelly Jones. MI recently reported the nuptials between Kagen and Jones in a ceremony uniting the dead killer with the living bride. See Woman Marries a Damned Soul. Mrs. Kagen said that Edwardo had changed and repented his evil ways since his arrival in Hell. Edwardo’s escape was aided by native American psychic Tia Two Wings. As she did during the courtship, Two Wings used her powers to facilitate communications between the Kagens. This time the communications were different. TwoWing’s whole being was taken. Ektoplasm came forth from her mouth like a giser. The ektoplasma soon materialized into Edwardo’s shape and form. Shelly couldn’t believe her eyes. Filled with joy at the site of Edwardo, she soon, she collapsed from a case of the vapors. TwoWings also past out from the excursion of bringing forth Kagen’s body and spirit.

Members from the Witch’s Coven that performed the wedding ceremony were on hand to help the Kagens and TwoWings. Edwardo was in a comatose state initially and required constant care for several days. TwoWings has not completely recovered according to unnamed members of the Coven. Shelley quickly recovered and is reported filled with bliss having her husband home and finally alive; although Tia Two-Wings would not confirm for MI whether Edwardo is considered to be fully alive, or in an undead state.

MI asked local authorities about the state of Edwardo’s criminal conviction; however they declined comment siting this as an unprecedented legal question best left for the courts to decide.

The happy couple don’t have any long term plans as of yet, but are reportedly enjoying their new found time together.

Lake Besic was the scene of unspeakable horror yesterday as a pair of ice fishermen were pulled into the icy depths of the lake. John S. and Sammy J. of Middlefield CT had claimed their spot near the deepest point in the lake. With their augers they had drilled a hole through the ice and had placed their lines in the water. Sometime had passed. Around late morning,  according to witnesses, the ice began to crack. A second later, before John and Sammy could react, a giant mouth broke through the ice. Both fishermen were swallowed whole. Terrified residents fled the area abandoning their fishing gear.

Police were called in, however before authorities could begin a recovery attempt, the ice had refroze. Police used dynamite to blast open a hole and rescue divers were deployed to recover John and Sammy. However, after several hours, authorities called off the search.

No decision has been made about resuming the search for John and Sammy. As of 7am the temperature was at -6 degrees making any recover dangerous for the dive team.

While witnesses claim a monster ate John and Sammy, the CT Game and Wildlife department said there has to be another explanation for the accident. They said the lake is populated with bass fish, which couldn’t break through the foot thick ice.
